Remarks: Tusitala, formerly Pamann, was built between the years 1981-1986. The design is a 34' Searunner with modified hull lines by John Marples to better accommodate foam core hulls.

Construction was a one-off male mold construction using a "birdcage" mold.

Airex foam sheets were attached to the mold and fiberglass mat and roving was laminated on the exterior of each hull. The hulls were faired and readied for paint. Next they were turned and the mold removed. The inner skin was then applied before bulkheads were installed. The bulkheads were constructed of marine plywood. The under wings, deck and cockpit were constructed of Divinicell using 0-90 stitched fiberglass fabric. The entire vessel was built with isothalic resin. The final paint finish was Awl Grip epoxy primer and Awl Grip polyurethane topcoat. The soles are teak parquet with the remainder of the interior solid teak

The spars were professionally built by Kenyon. She was launched August 8, 1986 in Chula Vista CA. Mast top third is tapered with all SS rigging originally for a 37 Searunner so is over sized for a 34. On the mast are 3 halyard winches, 3 Barlow 20s,and a 16, lower down is a small winch for center board, 2 Merriman winches are for staysail sheets and 2 Barlows 2 speed are for genoa sheets.
