Remarks:

After outfitting at Brewers' Marina in Portsmouth, RI, got underway on October 7, 1991 for Florida. Spent a day at Brock Island, then put 10 way points in the newly installed Loran and underway to Atlantic City. Did another overnighter down the coast to Portsmouth VA, arriving at mile "0" of Intracoastal Waterway at 1800 on the 11th. Noted in the log that the weather was "perfect" and making 10 knots under sail. Did the ICW to Southport, SC then outside again to Mayport, FL. ICW to Port St. Lucie on October 27th. Went outside again down through the keys to Marathon then across Florida Bay into the Gulf and north to Punta Gorda, arriving at my dock at Tangerine Court on November 2nd, 1991.

Sailed Florida West Coast and back through Okachobee to East Coast and throughout the Keys and barrier islands around Charlotte Harbor. Hauled three times over the years at Bob and Annie's Boatyard - St. James City, Pine Island, Florida for bottom painting and upgrades to underwater systems, Las drop, prop changes, sea cocks, etc. Westerbeke 21A diesel - 8 knots with clean bottom, West system throughout.

Took a direct hit from Hurricane Charley on 13 August, 2004. Destroyed my house and capsized Sunglitter in the canal where she was docked. (she actually flew) 45 foot mast was in 4 pieces and had to cut rigging when I had her righted. The boom and mainsail in tact, jib was destroyed on it's roller reefing, binnacle and steering made it and the engine as well, with need for replacement electrical equipment. Insides were an oily mess. Inside has since been cleaned up and the hull is in good shape with only the transom rails and two deck cleats pulled away. Lost after companionway hatch and ladder along with some weather boards.
